What We Do
our mission | | The mission of Dress for Success London is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional clothes, a network of support and career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
| general information | | Dress for Success London provides services to over 500 women a year who are referred to us by more than one hundred partner agencies.
We deal with women from a wide range of different backgrounds. What our clients have in common is that they have no money to buy an appropriate outfit to wear to a job interview. We offer clients a suitable outfit, followed by an interview advice session.
Over 40% of our clients received offers of employment last year. Each woman’s success will pay dividends not only to the women themselves, but also to their children and grandchildren.
| suiting program | |
Dress for Success London gave me a suit, a blouse, shoes, handbags and accessories. I left feeling valued, confident, good about myself and ready to attend interviews.
. . . Agnieszka, Dress for Success London client

Not many women own a suit unless they already have a job that requires one. But wearing a suit to a job interview can often make a good impression and improve your chances of success. Dress for Success London has a wide range of suits for you to choose from.
| other programs | | Transitions:
Dress for Success London was fortunate to receive a five-year award from the Big Lottery Fund. This grant has allowed us to expand our services through Transitions, a new outreach and support programme designed to help our clients sustain employment. Staff member Pauline Murphy leads this programme, which has four components:
Workshops: Through the Transitions programme Dress for Success London has offered over thirty workshops on a variety of topics, including motivation and self-esteem, presentation skills, appropriate business clothing and interview techniques.

Career Advice: These services include a “next steps session” in which clients examine their goals and discuss how to achieve them; assistance with CV writing; instruction on composing professional business correspondence; and mock interview sessions.
Mentoring Programme: This programme pairs newly employed clients with professional women mentors. For more information, click here.
Young Persons' Programme: Dress for Success London visits secondary schools and youth organisations, offering a variety of workshops preparing young people for full or part time work using practical and written exercises.
