Dress for Success Indianapolis Donations financial donations The Need Dress for Success Indianapolis depends 100% on the generosity of the community in order to provide transformative experiences to women who are working hard to change their lives.  While the in-kind donations of clothing and the thousands of hours of volunteer support are critical, financial contributions enable us to pay for expenses such as rent and phone service. Dress for Success Indianapolis values each dollar that is contributed and is committed to streching that dollar as far as possible.  This year, with monies raised through our Annual Fund, we will provide 1,200 women with full interview ensembles, 450 women with additional clothing suitable for their workplace, and offer 1,000 hours of career development support to clients who are employed or looking for a better job.   Dress for Success Indianapolis is proud to be an affiliate of the Dress for Success Worldwide organization.  One of the strengths of the organization is that dollars raised locally stay local.  On an annual basis we pay $500 to Dress for Success Worldwide as our licensing fee, but aside from that, every dollar stays with Dress for Success Indianapolis in order to operate our unique and transformative programs. Please contact Barbara Ellsworth, Executive Director, if you would like to arrange a gift through a transfer of securities or monthly credit card charges.   Donor Recognition Dress for Success Indianapolis is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization recognized by the IRS.  Financial contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.  All financial donors who provide their contact information will receive an acknowledgment that can be used for tax purposes.   In our newsletter we recognize the most recent financial contributions.  In our Annual Report and the first newsletter of each year we recognize cumulative gifts from the previous year.  Gifts are categorized at the following levels on an annual basis: Leader $10,000+ Sustainer $5,000 - $9,999 Visionary $2,500 - $4,999 Trendsetter $1,000 - $2,499 Benefactor $500 - $999 Partner $250 - $499 Friend $100 - $249 Donors at the Benefactor level and higher (gifts of $500+) are members of our Success Circle.  Donors will be recognized on an annual basis on a special recognition piece in the lobby of our office Interested in a third-party fundraiser? Once completed, please fax it to 317-940-3641 or email it to Andrea Cowley at andrea@indydfs.org. clothing donations What we accept Classic Cleaners will accept the following women's clothes ONLY: Skirt Suits Pant Suits Blouses Dress for Success Indianapolis will accept women's clothes only during open donation days at the boutique. These donations should be professional, conservative and fall into one of the following categories: Skirted Suits Pant Suits Dress slacks, skirts and blazers Long & short-sleeved blouses Shoes in excellent condition that are flat or low-heeled pumps Purses and briefcases New hosiery Portfolio binders Conservative jewelry Due to the needs of our clients and our space limitations we are unable to accept casual clothing, dressy clothes, evening wear, undergarments, open-toed shoes, bright colors, casual shoes or sandals. Donations that are deemed inappropriate or those that are considered excess inventory may be re-donated to another non-profit organization or sold, with all proceeds being used to fund our programs. Please be sure all clothes brought to the boutique are clean, on hangers and ready to wear (no missing buttons or torn hems/seams). Where to donate We have two easy ways to donate your professional women's clothing. Due to space constraints Classic Cleaners will only accept pants suits, skirt suits and blouses. All other professional attire as well as jewelry, purses, shoes and hosiery can be donated during any open donation time at the boutique. SUITS AND BLOUSES ONLY  at any Classic Cleaners location Classic Cleaners locations serve as an important drop-off point for women's suits and blouses. Suit Drives Please contact us if your company or organization is interested in holding a suit or accessory drive. Wish List Size 0, 2, 4, 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24 pantsuits in classic, conservative styles. New hosiery in knee-high and full-length. Skin tones only. Sizes small to 5X Padfolios/portfolios (for carrying resumes) Stylish, new/gently used dress shoes  New/gently used professional purses Size 14 and up blouses in classic, stylish, conservative styles guidelines for valuing donations Donors will receive a receipt for clothing donations made at Classic Cleaners or the boutique.
