Qualifications – a heart for women, a heart to serve in the community, and the ability to receive back more blessings than you give.

Personal shopper –This involves working with the clients and is done after extensive training and experience working with other volunteers, and when you feel ready. You will help her pick out outfits to try on which are appropriate for her interview or job. The clothing is really just a “tool” because we spend our time with the client, building her up, encouraging her, listening to her, and most importantly, accepting her.  The client most often comes to us with low self-esteem and from a very difficult background.  You will be her cheerleader. The volunteers who do this receive such enormous rewards in return.  WARNING:  It will change your life.

Phone – We need women to answer the phone.  We have call forwarding and each day a different volunteer takes the phone.  You will be taking messages, making client appointments, and answering questions regarding the program.  We probably average 5-6 calls a day.  This can be done at your home or on a cell phone.

Sorting Clothes – Wednesdays – this is our “drop-off” day for clothing donations.  You will help sort through clothing, steam items, and organize racks and shelves.  There are several women in the shop on Weds.  The time commitment can be 1 to 4 hours.  We also serve clients on this day so it is a good opportunity to observe the operation.

Misc. office work – We periodically need women to help us with typing, filing, assembling, etc.  If you have any special administrative skills, we would like to know this.

Misc. – We need help with fundraising activities, periodic workdays at the shop, running errands, and speaking to organizations in the community about DSB.
